Running Accomplishments:

I've been running consistently for almost twenty years. I've done a couple of marathons. 

Short-Term Running Goals:

In 2016: At least 17 miles a week, 67 a month, 800 for the year

Sub 26:00 5K

Sub 55:00 10K

Sub 2:00 half (if I decide to do one this year :)

 

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run another marathon, maybe. Someday. If I feel like it.

Personal:

I love my husband and my four children and running lets me spend more time with them!

Just have to pause for a moment and mourn the loss of my Wednesday run this week. It was a tough choice, but the essay deadline was looming large and it wasn't going to write itself. I really enjoy going to school, right up until the time it interferes with other things that I love. I'm going to have to do a better job of planning my runs next week.

I just have to say that even though I was no where close to meeting my running goals for this week, both of my sons obliterated old PRs in the XC meet on Friday, and my husband set a new PR in the marathon Saturday. It was an amazing running week for my family. I'll just have to enjoy it through them and take solace in the fact that I posted some awesome scores in school this week.

Took a different route with my new running partner. Didn't care for it - too much Main St. I'll have to come up with a better one for Thursday. Maybe we can stretch it a little longer.

So happy to have my Wednesday run back. It wasn't quite the glorious, energizing event I've come to expect, but it was the longest I've run in two weeks so I guess I should cut myself a little slack. More sleep, less stress and better food should help. I can dream.

Ha! I did it! I actually met my weekly mileage goal for the first time in several weeks. I'm a little tight and my foot is complaining, but other than that I held up okay. Having a running partner two days a week is really going to help my consistency. I'm feeling optimistic that this can happen again - even in the middle of the semester!

I just grabbed the paper log I was using before I joined the blog and I added my miles for the first part of the year. I'd forgotten how little I ran this winter and how far I've come since then. I didn't put comments on anything so there's no explanation for the random little 1 mile runs when I started running with my girls a few times a week in April and May. And there are a few 6 milers that come out of no where when my husband drug me out the door to do his favorite run with him. I love that I can do that run with him now and not die in the process. My only fear is that my running always drops off precipitously in the winter - I really want to keep it going this year!

It's no wonder I get injured so frequently when I'm so inconsistent. But I can honestly say that I did absolutely everything I could this week. I used every second of every day, and did more than I ever knew was humanly possible. I let the running slide knowing that it was just one incredibly complicated week and I know I can pick up the pieces next week. There will be other difficult weeks before the semester is through. I just need to stick with it!

Loop around the college. I felt rotten, but considering I haven't run in almost a week I shouldn't be surprised. Anxiety level is running a little high - it was a big weekend and there's another big week ahead. Sleep, eat and run. Unfortunately I have two more essays due on Friday. I sacrificed the running last week - I may have to sacrifice the sleep this week. As long as I don't sacrifice my sanity! We'll see.

Only had time for four this morning, but at least I got a run in. Turns out it was good I didn't try for more - I felt awful. I don't know if it was the wind or anxiety or just lack of sleep but I was mildly nauseated and short of breath. Not the worst I've ever felt on a run, but certainly not the way I like to feel.
